Rays of Funshine

About Rays of Funshine

With almost 20 years of experience between them, Lella Hoang and Dana Umbarger have worked extensively with children on the autism spectrum, as well as students with Oppositional Defiant Disorder, ADHD, Cognitive Impairment, Auditory Processing Disorder, Emotional Disturbance, Cerebral Palsy, and Sensory Integration Disorder.  Every child will be considered for placement and welcomed with open arms at our center, regardless of the behaviors they exhibit.  We also welcome typical siblings or peers!

Having a child with special needs is a 24/7 job. At Rays of Funshine, we understand that.  We know what you cannot leave your child with just anyone, and we would love to be the ones you choose to trust with your children.  Due to our professional experience, you will never have to worry that your child will engage in behaviors that are too tough to handle.  Our training in Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) will allow us to deal with virtually any behavior.  Whether it’s aggression, self-stimulatory behaviors, or tantrums, we are trained to implement strategies to help reduce these behaviors.  Our program is also language enriched, so your child will constantly be exposed to functional language as well as encouraged to use his/her own language (whether it’s verbal or nonverbal, including the use of icons and sign language).

We are here to be an extension of your family and school programs and will work with both to create an all-inclusive program for your child.  We will provide a natural environment for your child to continue to practice play, social, and self-help skills.

We look forward to providing a loving, fun, and safe environment for your child to continue to learn and make progress.

In July 2013, Rays of Funshine became a non-profit organization. Through grants and donations we are committed to providing high quality services to families that have historically been underserved.
